Keep it simple

Remember, an effective logo is recognizable. If a logo is too complex, it may be overlooked or forgotten, but simple branding will stay in the forefront of customers’ minds. Good marketing in a logo summarizes what your company is all about in a simple graphic. Keeping it simple also comes down to consistency. Once you pick a logo, stick with it. Changing up your brand over and over again will confuse consumers and potential clients and affect your business in the long run. Sometimes a branding make-up is beneficial, but changing up a logo unnecessarily or too frequently will only cause confusion as less customers will recognize your brand.

Colors are great but choose wisely

A splash of color adds a lot to a logo, but a brand with too many colors or a clashing color scheme only hinders a company’s marketing plan. Limit your color selection to three or four colors at most to keep customers engaged, without overwhelming them. There are exceptions, of course, but generally you don’t want more than four colors.

Along the same line, choose colors that suit your business. Do research before choosing a color or two for your logo to make sure the color is favorable with the market. Consulting a professional is a wise investment to make when making such a permanent decision.
