A couple of weeks ago we talked about rotational molding, which is one of the methods we use to manufacture custom plastic cases. We also use a second method, called injection molding, to make custom plastic cases. How is this done, and what are the benefits of a case made through injection molding?
Direct Injection
The process of injection molding starts with the mold. A mold designed to the exact specifications of a client is created that serves as the template for the cases which will be manufactured. Once the mold is made, heated plastic pellets are injected directly into the mold in order to create the case. A device clamps the mold together during the process to prevent abnormalities in the shape of the case. Pressure control keeps the plastic heated enough that we can inspect the case and make sure the cavities are filled properly. We ensure that the case is manufactured to the highest quality.
Why Choose Injection Molding?
The process of injection molding gives us a lot of flexibility when it comes to designing the shape of your case. Whatever your needs happen to be, we can design and manufacture the case to your exact specifications and to the highest quality. Injection molded cases are also very cost effective. We can reuse molds down the line if you need additional cases made which can save you money. They also require very little labor in the manufacturing process and we can even recycle any extra plastic that you don’t need. The machines required for injection molding are inexpensive as well, which means we can pass the savings on to you.
No matter what your custom casing needs, injection molding is a good way to go to get high-quality cases at a good price!
