Search and Rescue Mobile Response Cases

Putting First Responders First

When people are injured or an emergency arises, reliable communication is critical. First Responders must have access to technology that provides them with swift and effective communication and resources to help them perform their jobs at the most critical moments.

At Advanced Packaging Inc, we design and engineer custom solutions for first responders that allow them to communicate and collaborate effectively and reliably. Whether that is by manufacturing shipping containers for charging phones and radio gear or developing highly sophisticated systems integrations cases that integrate LTE access points or Cradlepoint technology, our team is here to help. Below are just some of the projects we have worked on over the past year for various first responders and emergency services units.

Custom UAV Drone Case

API designed and engineered a full-motion video kit to assist UAV systems in downloading and transmitting data back to command centers in the field. The case has been outfitted with the following capabilities:

  • A Thales MissionLink 700 satellite communication unit
  • A Cradlepoint LTE/Wi-Fi router for a mobile hotspot
  • A power supply and battery system so the unit can run off of a charge when remote in the field
  • An HDMI to USB adapter for transferring footage via the Cradlepoint router
  • An area built into the lid which allows for both laptop storage as well as a charging port

The exterior of the case features Satellite, LTE, and Wi-Fi antenna ports which you can connect into as well as exterior ports for AC and DC power, HDMI, USB, and Ethernet connections

Mobile Medical Backpack Case

When lives are on the line, first responders need to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively and reliably. We designed and built a solution that will keep first responders connected when it matters most. Using a rugged mobile LTE access point that can withstand challenging conditions, the final product is a backpack that provides secure mobile access to assist first responders in retrieving critical applications and data, helping improve their decision-making.

The exterior of the case includes vital features such as a USB port, an Ethernet port, and a power input port, allowing the emergency response crews to charge the pack when it is not in use. A mount has also been built into the case so that the backpack can hang from a side wall when not deployed.

The interior of the case features a converter unit that goes from USB to ethernet, to a cradle point router, creating a remote hotspot for first responders to perform on-site triage. The heart of the case also features:

  • A GPS for location tracking.
  • Two sets of antennas for single or dual-band transmitting of data or video.
  • And a sim card that can be switched out depending on the wireless carrier

Amazon Web Services Systems Integration Case

Equipped with a built-in antenna and a remote RF antenna, this unit can be utilized to easily extend the range of AWS’s comms network through dead zones and across remote locations, ensuring constant communication.

The side panel of this case features an RF and Power Panel designed to take three different inputs: a dc input, solar input, and an mc4 solar input. It is also equipped with

  • An extra LAN port
  • A spare rf port
  • A grounding lug
  • A cellular antenna

The side panel can also connect to a wan (wide area network) so that if there is internet service to the worksite, the AWS team can easily plug in and get their communications team up and running quickly.

The end result is a one-stop plug-and-play system that reduces the full operation deployment time from an hour, down to two-minutes.

Why Trust API?
