Civil Air Patrol National Technology Center SKB Case
Founded in December of 1941, the Civil Air Patrol is one of the nation's premier public service organizations that carries out emergency service missions when needed both in the air and on the ground. The Civil Air Patrol is there to search for and find the lost, provide comfort in times of disaster, and work to keep our homeland safe. As such it is critical that these brave men and women have reliable forms of communication for their emergency service personnel across the country. For these reasons, they asked the engineers at Advanced Packaging Inc to develop a custom aviation case that would be able to safely transport and store valuable communications equipment.
During the design process, the engineers at API determined that an injection molded SKB 3i-2217-10 case would offer the Civil Air Patrol National Technology Center with the best in storage and protection. Known as the manufacturers of the world’s best transportation cases, these cases provide the foundation for a reliable solution that would be in use for years to come.
API further customized the interior of the case with custom foam inserts, allowing Civil Air Patrol National Technology Center to integrate six Motorola APX4000 portables into a field-ready kit that also housed spare batteries and a gang changer. The final design was an aviation case that protects millions of dollars worth of equipment in some of the roughest field conditions imaginable.
